Farm to Family Delivery Details / Detalles de las entregas de granja a familia
January-May / Enero-Mayo
Deliveries for households enrolled in our Farm to Family program will go out bright and early twice per month on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays and Fridays from our farm in Greenfield. Delivery dates are:
January 11+12 & 25+26
February 8+9 & 22+23
March 7+8 & 21+22
April 11+12 & 25+26
May 9+10 & 23+24
You will receive protein deliveries along with your produce boxes. Keep an eye out for our driver! You can expect a text reminder about your share delivery the day before, and alerts when we’re approaching your home and once we have dropped off your share!
**PLEASE have a clean cooler full of ice out for us if you would like us to keep your share cool!!
Please notify us at irene@justroots.org or text us at (413) 303-9662 at least a week in advance with any address changes and updated allergy or delivery details.

Crispy Oven Roasted Beans
Recipe adapted from Marathons & Motivation
These roasted beans are wonderful as snacks, salad toppers, or in pasta dishes. *Note, dry beans should be soaked and cooked before making this recipe! You can substitute with any kind of dry bean.
Total Time: 30 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients:
- 1-1.5 cups of cooked dry beans2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp cayenne optional
- 2 tsp cornstarch
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 400. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Allow the beans to dry thoroughly so they aren’t wet when you season them.
- In a large bowl, gently toss the beans with olive oil.
- In a small bowl, mix together the garlic, onion, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, cayenne, and cornstarch. Add this mix to the bowl with the beans and gently toss to coat the beans in the seasonings.
- Dump the seasoned beans onto the lined baking sheet and gently spread them out in a single layer.
- Bake for 15 minutes, then stir the beans and return to the oven for 15 more minutes. Check to see if they are crispy and make sure they aren’t burning and continue cooking for 5 minutes at a time until they are crispy.
- Enjoy right away or store in a sealed container at room temperature for 2-3 days. (They won’t be as crispy after being stored).
Frijoles Crujientes Horneados

Estos frijoles horneados son geniales como snack, para ensaladas o con pasta. *Nota, legumbres secas deben ponerse en remojo y ser cocinados antes de hacer esta receta. Puede sustituir con cualquier tipo de legumbre.

Ingredientes
- 1-1.5 tazas de legumbres secas
- 2 cdas de aceite de oliva
- 2 cdtas de ajo en polvo
- 2 cdtas de cebolla en polvo
- 1 cdta de comino
- 1 cdta de paprika ahumada
- ½ cdta de sal
- ½ cdta de pimienta negra
- ¼ cdta de cayena opcional
- 2 cdta de maizena
Direcciones
- Precaliente el horno a 400F. Prepare una bandeja de horno con papel de hornear.
- Deje que los frijoles se sequen bien para que no estén húmedos cuando los sazone.
- En un bol grande, mezcle los frijoles con el aceite de oliva.
- En un bol pequeño, mezcle el ajo en polvo, el comino, la cebolla en polvo, la paprika ahumada, sal, pimienta y la maizena. Añada este bol de especias a los frijoles y remueve hasta cubrir bien
- Eche los frijoles sazonados sobre la bandeja de horno y extienda hasta formar una sola capa.
- Hornee durante 15 minutos, después remueva y vuelva a meter en el horno por otros 15 minutos. Eche un vistazo para ver si están crujientes y asegúrese que no se quemen, continue horneando y chequeando cada 5 minutos hasta que estén crujientes.
- Disfrútelos al momento o guarde en un tarro con cierre hermético a temperatura ambiente durante 2-3 días. (No estarán tan crujientes después de guardados).
Simple & Quick Spinach, Tomato & Bean Soup
Recipe adapted from Ginger with Spice
Total Time: 25 minutes
Servings: 5
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 yellow onion, sliced or diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 ½ cups vegetable or chicken stock
- 1 jar of tomato puree
- 1 teaspoon sugar (or to taste)
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning (or a mixture of oregano, parsley)
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 1.5 cups of dry beans (soaked and fully cooked)
- 2 cups roughly chopped, fresh spinach
- Salt as needed
- ⅓ cup grated parmesan (optional)
- 3 tablespoon finely chopped, fresh parsley or any other herb, for serving (optional)
Directions:
- In a large saucepan, add oil and heat to medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and cook until the onion is translucent, about 7 minutes. Stir occasionally.
- Now add in the vegetable stock, canned tomatoes, sugar, Italian seasoning, salt & pepper. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer for at least 10 minutes to blend the flavors together.
- Stir in (cooked) beans of choice and spinach. Lastly, stir in the parmesan cheese and taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Serve with good, crusty bread.
Sopa Simple y Rápida de Espinacas, Tomate & Frijoles
Receta de Ginger with Spice
Tiempo Total: 25 minutos
Sirve: 5
Ingredientes:
- 1 cda de aceite de oliva
- 1 cebolla amarilla, en rodajas o picada
- 3 dientes de ajo picados
- 2 ½ tazas de caldo vegetal o de pollo
- 1 tarro de puré de tomate
- 1 cdta de azúcar (o al gusto)
- 1 cda de mezcla de hierbas italianas
- ½ cdta de pimienta
- 1.5 tazas de frijoles secos (en remojo y cocidos)
- 2 tazas de espinacas frescas troceadas
- Sal al gusto
- ⅓ taza de queso parmesano (opcional)
- 3 cda de perejil troceado o cualquier otra hierba para servir (opcional)
Direcciones:
- En una cacerola grande, añade el aceite y ponga a fuego medio. Añada la cebolla y el ajo, y cocine hasta que la cebolla esté translúcida, unos 7 minutos. Remueva de ven en cuando.
- Ahora añada el caldo de verduras, el puré de tomate, el azúcar, las hierbas italianas, sal y pimienta. Lleve a hervir y reduce para hervir a fuego lento durante 10 minutos por lo menos.
- Eche los frijoles cocidos. y las espinacas. Por último, añada el queso parmesano, pruebe y ajuste el aliño si fuera necesario. Sirva con una buena rebanada de pan.
