Just Roots is committed to making sure everyone has access to fresh, nourishing food. Because of the financial toll that COVID-19 has caused members of our community, we have committed to raising additional funds to provide even more subsidized, or reduced-priced, shares this season. We are calling this our COVID-19 Relief Fund!
With this new fund, even if you or your household would not usually qualify for an income-qualifying share, you may select to pay our “income-qualifying share price” for this season if you are circumstantially experiencing food insecurity* because of COVID-19. Please choose “COVID-19 Relief Fund” on the Share Selection section of your registration, and then choose the “income-qualifying share price” when selecting your share size. We have limited relief funds, so sign up now. We’ll get back to you within 2-3 business days to confirm your enrollment.
*What is Food Insecurity? Just Roots is referring to food insecurity in this case, as a lack of access to enough nourishing, healthy, and culturally appropriate food, because of financial hardship due to COVID-19.
You might be experiencing food insecurity if, since the COVID-19 outbreak:
- You worry that food will run out before you have money to buy more.
- You feel that you can’t consistently feed yourself or your family well.
- You don’t eat, or eat less, because there isn’t enough money for food.
