Shed-Raising to Honor the late Jay Lord

Please join the Just Roots community for a small lunch celebration and shed-raising to honor the late Jay Lord, one of our founders and first executive director.

Saturday, September 5th, 1–2 PM: Pick-Your-Own Fields at Just Roots Farm

We’ll gather to celebrate the raising of a new timber-frame Pick-Your-Own shed, to be lovingly named the Jay Lord Welcome Shed. Led by timber framer Adrian Almquist and made possible by generous gifts given in Jay’s honor, this project brings together art and function while supporting our growing farm infrastructure.

The shed will be assembled throughout the day, but we’ll pause at 1 PM to share lunch, swap stories, and say a few words about Jay, this farm, and his lasting legacy. Come watch (or participate) the timber frame take shape, and join us in celebrating the beauty of the farm this season.

Everyone is welcome! Come for the shed, stay for the community. And pick some flowers and raspberries while you are here!
