Just Roots is a non-profit community organization located in Greenfield, Massachusetts. Our mission is to connect people with the land, infrastructure and know-how necessary to make locally grown food accessible to all.
Just Roots began meeting as a group of concerned citizens in 2008. It was formed in partnership with Pleasant Street Community Gardens, Greening Greenfield, and Mount Grace Land Trust. In the process of acquiring 501-c3 status, Just Roots currently works under the legal and financial umbrella of the Franklin County Community Development Corporation.
Just Roots has a Board of Directors that meets monthly, a working committee structure, a volunteer director, four part-time staff, and networked connections with local farm organizations, food distributors, educators, community gardeners, and social service networks. Our current project is the development of the Greenfield Community Farm.
