In this introductory class, we’ll cover the basics of identifying plants by their flowering parts as we walk the fields and forest landscape of Just Roots farm. Participants will be begin to understand what makes plants similar and different, how to tell them apart, and the key characteristics important to identification. We’ll also talk about some helpful field guides to get you ready for the warm months ahead (Will be looking at Newcombs’ Wildflower Guide). In addition of course, we’ll also be admiring and talking about the landscape, medicinal and food uses, and any other knowledge or lore there that folks have to offer.
