Bees are coming to the Greenfield Community Farm, and we love them. Not only do they share their honey with us, but they also pollinate orchards, gardens and wildflowers. Besides, observing and working with bees is a sheer pleasure. There’s nothing like the sight and sound of an active hive!
With the arrival of two beehives on the farm in early April, organic farmer and avid beekeeper Daniel Berry will be offering a series of free workshops on beekeeping. The first in this series, suitable for both beginners and those considering beekeeping, will address basics in honeybee biology, colony dynamics, equipment and spring management. All are welcome.
- DATE: Saturday, March 31; 9:30 AM – 2:00 PM (bring your own lunch)
- LOCATION: Greenfield Community Farm (directions)
Reservations are requested. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, contact information and number in your party. Put “bees” in the subject line. Space is limited to the first 20 applicants. Expect a rustic experience; there are no bathroom facilities yet.
This workshop is sponsored by Just Roots with many thanks to Daniel Berry.
